Der Letzte macht das Licht aus

Schon vor fast drei Jahren ist der erste 4momo-Eintrag bei Veröffentlichung dieses Beitrags erschienen (8. August 2003). Zeit, dass sich mal etwas ändert! Die Eigenentwicklung „4momo Weblog“ und „4momo Content Creator“ wurden während dieser Zeit den Bedürfnissen steigender Besucherzahlen und neuer Trends (Kommentare, Trackback) ständig angepasst und konnten in anderen Projekten weiterverwendet werden. Das grundsolide Design veränderte sich in dieser Zeit nur wenig. Mit der Kombination der redaktionellen Ebene und dem klaren Layout konnte ich nicht nur einen solventen Sponsor finden, sondern auch den Jugendmedien Preis 2004 gewinnen.

Dieses Traumteam kann verdient in den Ruhestand der Archivierung gehen. Alle Artikel und Downloads werden weiterhin zum Abruf bereitgehalten und die Kommentarfunktion zunächst — sofern kein zu hohes Spamaufkommen vorhanden ist — nicht deaktiviert. Da die Trackbackfunktion zuletzt für circa 85% des Traffic-Aufkommens verantwortlich war, habe ich diese endgültig abgestellt (sie wurde ohnehin nur selten zu etwas anderem als Spam genutzt und stellte ein potentielles Sicherheitsrisiko dar).

Linux Kernelversion herausfinden

Etwas sehr nützliches, wenn man mit vielen Kernelversionen herumexperimentiert oder einfach nur den Link /usr/src/linux richtig setzen will, ist das Kommando uname -a, mit dem die aktuell geladene Kernelversion angezeigt wird, also zum Beispiel:

Free System Backup Suite for Linux

Ever came across the miserable situation of "shit, I don't have a backup"? Imagine what a "sudo rm / -Rf" could do to your system in a few seconds! Would you be able to get your system running again within minutes? No? Then systembackup suite is probably exactly what you need! Give it a try, it is kept simple, stupid (KISS).

After untaring the downloaded backup suite with tar -xzf systembackup-suite-0.1-rc.tar.gz, follow these steps:

To perform a backup, run ./backup.sh. This will generate a TAR file
which includes everything you need to restore the saved system state
from a Linux live or rescue system. What you do to go backup to the
system state that was saved within the TAR file is to tar -xf FILENAME
the generated file on the Linux rescue system. This will create a
directory called FILENAME (without the extension). You only have to cd
to it and call the ./restore.sh script. It is important that you know
where you mounted your former / partition as the script will
interactivley ask you where to put the backuped system.

systembackup-suite-0.1 is Free Software and you may exert it under the
terms of the GPL as distributed with your systembackup suite copy.

The current development state is systembackup-suite-0.1-rc. Get yourself a copy.
